Some football enthusiasts prepare for Super Bowl Sunday for weeks. Others invite a last minute crew over to gather around the big screen television and have some snacks. If you’re the latter, consider a few quick and easy snacks and drinks to serve during Super Bowl 2015 on Feb. 1.
Easy and Cheesy Snacks
Nothing is better than crunching on cheesy snacks during the Super Bowl. For those who like it hot, serve tortilla chips con queso. Find the easiest recipe for nachos at the Rotel website. Simply heat up Velveeta cheese and Rotel to make the best nachos in minute. For those who don’t want to turn on a stove or microwave, John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks and cheese crisps are ready-made gourmet goodies created with sourdough, spices and aged cheeses.
Deviled Eggs the Fast Way
Boiling eggs and whipping up multiple ingredients to make deviled eggs takes time. Cut the time in half by purchasing eggs that are already hard cooked from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. Slice the eggs the long way and scoop out the yellow yolks. Put the yolks in a bowl with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Whip up the mixture with a fork and add more mayo as needed. Spoon the yolks into the halved egg whites then top them off with dash of dried parsley and paprika.
Quick Pigs in a Blanket
Honor pigskin during the Super Bowl by serving festive pigs in a blanket. Use miniature hot dogs or slice a regular hot dog into three pieces. Get refrigerated country style or buttermilk biscuits from Pillsbury and cut each one in half. Wrap the half biscuit around the small pieces of hot dog. Put them on a baking sheet, place in the over and bake about 400 degrees for around 10 to 15 minutes. Serve with mustard for dipping.
Sweet Victory Sangria
More women are joining the festivities on Super Bowl Sunday rather than spending time in the kitchen. These quick snacks make it easy to feed everyone without slaving away by the stove all day. Treat the female guests at the Super Bowl party to Sweet Victory Sangria and give them something to cheer about. All it takes is 2 cups of Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver, 2 cups of pinot grigio and some fruit slices. Mix them up together, add some ice and let the fruit slice float around in the Smirnoff and wine.
If the men at the Super Bowl party want screwdriver type drink, mix up some Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver with cranberry juice then add some ice cubes. A lighter version of the usual screwdriver, this will fuel the guests’ enthusiasm without making them incredibly intoxicated. Make sure to fill a barrel with regular and light beer for everyone who associates the Super Bowl with drinking beer.
Whether you cheer for the New England Patriots or the Seattle Seahawks, Super Bowl 2015 is much better when snacks and drinks are served. These affordable choices are sure to make any Super Bowl party more festive without doing a lot of work or breaking the bank.
