George Osborne, British Chancellor of the Exchequer, has announced his decision to introduce a ‘spare bedroom tax’, which will affect up to 660,000 social housing tenants across the country. In light of the Government’s new controversial policy, the Labour party has declared plans for an opposition debate which will see a counter-proposal ‘mansion tax’ on properties worth more than £2million ($3.05 million).
