One year after the conflict began in Northern Mali, peace talks between the Malian government and militant rebels are scheduled to take place January 21 in neighboring Burkina Faso. The conflict was fueled by a military seizure of power benefited from the power vacuum left in the coup’s wake and as a result, more than 350,000 citizens have been displaced.
