When Harry and Meghan announced that they would be changing roles in the monarchy, they caused quite a stir worldwide. While some applaud their decision, others, who support the English monarchy, see them as traitors. After Queen Elizabeth II, Harry was the most popular member of the royal family. As Meghan and Harry transition into becoming part-time royals, the royal family is upset.
In 1997, the funeral of Princess Diana was a global news story. As they said their final goodbye to their mom, Diana, William and Harry touched people worldwide. During her lifetime, Diana the People’s Princess, proved that a royal life, with all its perks, does not always bring happiness. After her divorce from Charles, Diana was hunted down by the media. In recent interviews, Harry said that every time he sees a camera it reminds him of the ordeal that Diana had to endure.
Perhaps one of the reasons that Harry is leaving royal life behind is to find a quiet life away from the paparazzi. He wants to have a normal and quiet life with his wife Meghan and son Archie. Though it is still unclear as to what Harry and Meghan’s new roles will be, I do believe that they will stay dedicated to their charitable causes. Harry is the founder of the Invictus Games, and he will certainly continue that legacy As an advocate for women’s rights, Meghan will continue to fight for the rights of young girls and women Together they are both a power couple who will try make the world a better place
Changing roles is something that we all have to face in our lives. When our families do not support our dreams or what makes us happy, we have to simply move on without their blessing. Our choices, like Harry and Meghan’s decision, can often sever our family ties. At any cost, finding happiness is worth it. After all we only have one life to lie and we should lie our lives in our own way Harry and Meghan plan to find happiness on their own terms.
If you have ever experiences disapproval from your family, you realize how strong your character truly is. Those aspirations that we have whether our family supports them or not, are our raison de etre. We should always believe in our dreams even when we fail. Robert Frost’s poen “The Road Not Taken” encourages us to take chances to turn our dreams into reality.
Not all of our changing roles in our lives are about making our dreams come true. Some transitions that take place are simply beyond our control such as a death in the family or a job loss. After any type of loss we have to find a way to reinvent ourselves. We just have to be brave and garner courage like an explorer. In order to survive, we must adapt to new circumstances. Realizing that life is like a journey makes us face transitions with all the strength that we can muster. While some journeys are destined to end in our lives, others will begin
Changing roles takes place in our lives because some things in our lives simply fall apart. Sometimes the only solution is to move away from people who have negative influences on us or pursuits that no longer interest us. Unfortunately, any type of relationship can fall apart, even loving relationships can end in divorce. Holding in pain and resentment, due to changing roles in life, prevents us from finding true happiness.
As Harry and Meghan adapt to their new life in Canada, hopefully, they will find their changing roles fulfilling. As he takes a stand, Harry is keeping Diana’s spirit alive. What Diana wanted most for her two sons was for both of them to find happiness within the palace walls or outside of the palace walls.
