Last month, the International Monetary Fund issued a rare mea culpa admitting it botched the Greek bailout and pushed ill-advised austerity measures in the wake of the Greek economic crisis back in 2011. The IMF admitted to underestimating the severity of the state’s debt crisis and significantly miscalculating the damage its harsh policies would accrue.
